The bridge moves GNK from Gonka to Ethereum as wGNK and allows you to bring it back. If you are choosing a wallet or buying tokens for the first time, start with the difference between GNK and wGNK.

What happens to the tokens?

For Gonka → Ethereum, native GNK is locked and wGNK is issued to the specified Ethereum address. For Ethereum → Gonka, wGNK is burned and the corresponding amount of GNK is released on Gonka. This return transfer goes to an address derived from the Ethereum sender's key; you cannot choose an arbitrary Gonka recipient for that operation. See the instructions for Gonka → Ethereum and Ethereum → Gonka.

Check the direction and network names rather than relying on Deposit or Withdraw alone. Different interfaces may label these actions relative to different networks.

Why Keplr and MetaMask show Address mismatch

A seed phrase can generate many keys. Gonka uses coin type 1200 in its derivation path, while Ethereum uses 60. Importing the same phrase into Keplr and MetaMask with their standard settings therefore does not make the selected accounts match. The official Addresses and keys guide explains why.

The warning Address mismatch — bridging is blocked compares two Ethereum addresses: Keplr-derived EVM, derived from the Keplr account's key, and MetaMask active, selected in MetaMask. It is not comparing a gonka1… string with a 0x… string; those formats are expected to look different.

If the check fails, stop the transfer. Select matching accounts and reconnect the wallets. If the matching account is not listed, switching networks alone will not fix it. Consult the official address derivation guide before proceeding.

A mismatch does not necessarily mean funds would be lost. When different paths use the same seed phrase, the receiving key can be derived from that phrase. However, the connected wallet may neither display nor provide access to that account in its current configuration. Confirm access before sending. Do not enter a seed phrase or private key into a bridge website.

Where to open the bridge

The official dashboard guide covers the receiving address, network status and transfer stages.

Gonka Bridge by Gonkascan is a community interface for Gonka mainnet with Keplr and MetaMask connections. It displays the transfer direction and checks whether the connected accounts match.

Fees and waiting time

Ethereum operations require ETH for gas. The dashboard guide estimates about 1–5 minutes for Gonka → Ethereum and 15–20 minutes for Ethereum → Gonka. These are estimates, not deadlines; the return direction waits for Ethereum finalization.

Once the addresses are verified, start with a small amount and confirm it arrives in the expected account. If a transfer is delayed, check the original transaction status, direction and receiving address. Sending again creates another transfer; it does not speed up the first one.
